Learn a little about our ministry...
|
|
Our mission is to make true disciples of Jesus Christ in the Netherlands, with a view toward establishing indigenous local churches. |
|
|
One of our primary methods of evangelism is one-on-one and small group evangelistic Bible studies. Many Dutch people who would not attend a church service when invited, would be open to a personal Bible study. This approach allows them to learn the gospel message in a more neutral setting where they can ask questions. Personal Bible studies also allow us to develop personal relationships with people in the evangelistic process. |

We envision two main phases of ministry. First, we will endeavor to establish a church which can serve as a mother church for future church plants. Our target location for the church plant is the city of Landgraaf, which is part of a cluster of cities in the province of Limburg with a total population of 250,000. We currently have several believers living in our target area who will make up our core group, as well as others who are planning to move into the area for the purpose of joining the core group.
Once the church in Landgraaf is established and financially independent, the second phase of our mission will be the training of men to go out as church planters from the mother church into other locations in the Netherlands. With each additional church plant, the base of churches that can participate in new church plants will grow. The exciting potential of this model is the exponential growth that can take place over time. |
- The centrality and purity of the gospel
We understand that man’s greatest need is not physical or societal, but spiritual. Our goal is not to reform Dutch society or battle social vices in the political arena, but rather to bring people to repentance and faith in Christ.
- Indigenous, reproductive ministry
We believe strongly that any international church planting mission should establish churches which are culturally contextualized and in which the responsibility of ongoing church planting efforts shifts from the missionary to the believers in the target culture.
- Passionate and pastoral exposition of Scripture
The preaching and teaching ministry of the church is the foundation of all the other ministries in the church. All other service is merely a response to the proclaimed Word of God.
- Corporate, relational sanctification
While it is true that Christians grow in their Christ-like character individually, God also intends for the church body as a whole to mature. This growth takes place as each member of the body ministers to the other members for the building up of the entire body. A close-knit doctrinal unity and relational love commitment are essential.
